Trial met primary endpoint of objective response rate and key secondary endpoint of overall survival in patients with previously treated HER2 positive metastatic gastric cancer TOKYO, MUNICH & BASKING RIDGE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (hereafter, Daiichi Sankyo) and AstraZeneca today announced positive topline results from the pivotal phase 2 DESTINY-Gastric01 trial of DS-8201, a HER2 directed antibody drug conjugate (ADC), in patients with HER2 positive unresectable or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer that had progressed following two or more treatment regimens including trastuzumab and chemotherapy.The trial met its primary endpoint, achieving a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in objective response rate (ORR), as assessed by an independent review committee, in patients treated with DS-8201 versus investigator’s choice of chemotherapy (irinotecan or paclitaxel monotherapy).
