Your first reaction to this might be — couldn't we already do that? On the Meta , the company claims its new Travel mode for and tweaks the behaviour of the motion and head tracking tech to make it work better. “We specially tuned our algorithms to account for the motion of an airplane, so you'll have a stable and consistent experience in Travel Mode—even when looking out the window,” Meta says. Even a cursory glance at Reddit will reveal plenty of folks who claim to have used their Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets on flights, so this is likely more of a motion compensation tweak to slightly improve the experience. It may also alleviate any increase in travel sickness you would otherwise feel from using the headset in a moving vehicle. “We plan to add support for other modes of transportation like trains in the future,” says Meta.
