Tequila maker says tariffs won't affect his prices. Here's why he plans to absorb costs [CNBC]

In 2024, the U.S. imported $5.2 billion worth of tequila and $93 million worth of mezcal from Mexico, according to the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. Factory ownership and low agave prices are giving Suerte an advantage in the competitive tequila market, its CEO told CNBC. Suerte Tequila's dedicated factory and agave farm in Jalisco Mexico. While some tequila makers have warned they might have to implement price hikes to offset tariffs, Colorado-based Suerte Tequila said it has been able to keep overhead prices low enough that it will absorb the levies if necessary.
