Switzerland's Origen X Group eyes Tequila after vodka launch [Yahoo! Finance]

Origen X Group focuses on acquiring historical spirit brands that can be “revived or reinvigorated”. It produces Irish whiskey brands Kinahan's and Bagots. Also in its portfolio is the Haitian rum brand Bouvil. Each brand can trace their history back more than 100 years. The company has released two SKUs of Mikolasch in the EU, including Spain, Germany, the UK and Italy. The brand will also be distributed in China and some global travel retail sites. Origen X Group CEO Zak Oganian told Just Drinks it was already in talks with an “old family” in Mexico to acquire a Tequila brand. “We have multiple projects. We definitely want to add a Tequila project to our portfolio. And I think after that, we'll take a little break, because there'll be a lot of work to develop all these projects,” Oganian said.
