Analyst Kristina Ruggeri said the apparel giant is benefiting from its direct-to-consumer (e-commerce and company-owned retail) channels, which represent about 90% of sales. Ruggeri highlighted that those channels generate stronger margins than wholesale channels and allow Tapestry ( TPR ) to use first-party data and analytics to better understand customer preferences. Another point working in Tapestry's ( TPR ) favor is that despite lower sales level, the company is seeing meaningful growth in adjusted gross margins, noted Ruggeri. Looking ahead, Tapestry ( TPR ) management believes that the price gap between its products and more expensive luxury goods is larger than ever, which is seen allowing it to raise prices further in FY25. Notably, Tapestry ( TPR ) is also looking to expand its jewelry, footwear and clothing lines.
