CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chemed Corporation (Chemed) (NYSE: CHE), which operates VITAS Healthcare Corporation (VITAS), one of the nation’s largest providers of end-of-life care, and Roto-Rooter, the nation’s largest commercial and residential plumbing and drain cleaning services provider, reported financial results for its third quarter ended September 30, 2019, versus the comparable prior-year period, as follows:Consolidated operating results:Revenue increased 8.2% to $481 millionGAAP Diluted Earnings-per-Share (EPS) of $3.56, an increase of 16.3%Adjusted Diluted EPS of $3.46, an increase of 12.7%VITAS segment operating results:Net Patient Revenue of $322 million, an increase of 6.6%Average Daily Census (ADC) of 19,086, an increase of 6.3%Admissions of 17,131, an increase of 4.4%Net Income, excluding certain discrete items, of $40.4 million, an increase of 10.9%Adjusted EBITDA, excluding Medicare Cap, of $54.3 million, an increase of 6.7%Roto-Rooter segment operating results:
