YONKERS, N.Y., Dec. 10, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ContraFect Corporation (Nasdaq: CFRX), a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing direct lytic agents for the treatment of life-threatening infectious diseases, today announced the pricing of its underwritten public offering of 37,150,000 shares of its common stock at a public offering price of $0.27 per share. The gross proceeds from the public offering will be approximately $10 million, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses payable by ContraFect. In addition, ContraFect also announced that Pfizer Inc. has agreed to purchase 11,111,111 shares of ContraFect’s common stock pursuant to a stock purchase agreement with ContraFect at the price per share in the public offering, in a separate private placement transaction that is expected to close concurrently with the public offering.
