Certara gains as UBS upgrades citing compelling buy [Seeking Alpha]

Princeton, New Jersey-based HealthTech, which develops biosimulation software, has lost ~33% in value this year. UBS analyst Dan Leonard wrote that its selloff this month, exceeding those of its peer contract research organizations, is overdone given the pressure faced by the group consistently. Leonard added that despite contributing ~40% to the top line, CERT's software platform is positioned to generate over double-digit sales growth in 2026 and beyond, offsetting the headwinds faced by the company's service businesses, which make up ~60% of sales. "We believe these headwinds have stabilized as seen across our pharmaceutical supplier coverage and are well appreciated by investors," Leonard added, with a 12-month price target of $16 on CERT. Citing the company's Model Informed Drug Development (MIDD) software, Simcyp, the analyst argued that the company is uniquely positioned to benefit from a regulatory push to promote MIDD use.
