They said the maker of specialty materials and chemicals faces ongoing weakness in overseas markets. “We are updating our estimates for Celanese ( CE ) as a result of the release of second-quarter 2024 earnings, guidance updates and our own recent channel checks which seem to indicate a more prolonged set of headwinds in two of Celanese's ( CE ) key operating regions, China and the European Union,” Charles Neivert, analyst at Piper Sandler, said in a Sept. 5 report.
