In previous years, the show focused more on mobile games , but this year, it was more like how it used to be: lots of games being played by hectic and happy people. Part of the change is twofold: we're still coming out of the COVID era , and games have a lead time in terms of development and promotion. The other aspect is how much Chinese and Korean games are now also taking off in a big way. We've already seen bits of this with games like Stellar Blade and Black Myth Wukong , but this trend feels like it is on the rise. With lots of new games, big and small, coming out of Asia. There's also a lot of Japanese collaboration within these games, with various artists and licenses crossing over in a culturally refreshing way.
