It's a top-down installment called The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and as it turns out it will actually star…Zelda, who is on the hunt for Link after he falls into a void rift. Nintendo showed off unique gameplay that isn't sword-based at all, but instead Zelda gets a magic wand that allows her to summon a variety of objectives to get through various puzzles, but also combat encounters, including the ability to summon (“echo”) monsters who will then fight for her, Pokémon-style. Echoes What's wild about this announcement is not just that it's a surprise, not just that it stars Zelda, but Nintendo also instantly announced a release date, September 27, 2024, which is just over three months away, and will no doubt be a big holiday hit.
