La Caixa, principal accionista de Caixabank, es el segundo grupo originario de esta próspera región del noreste español en anunciar su regreso a Cataluña, después del banco Sabadell, que tomó esta decisión el 22 de enero en plena oferta pública de adquisición (OPA) de su competidora BBVA, a la que se opone. "El patronato de la Fundación Bancaria 'la Caixa' ha acordado hoy por unanimidad y en sesión extraordinaria el establecimiento en la ciudad de Barcelona (...) del domicilio social de la Fundación", anunció en un comunicado el accionista principal de Caixabank, tercer banco de España.
