View our latest analysis for Burberry Group Burberry Group's Dividend Is Well Covered By Earnings A big dividend yield for a few years doesn't mean much if it can't be sustained. Prior to this announcement, Burberry Group's dividend made up quite a large proportion of earnings but only 73% of free cash flows. In general, cash flows are more important than earnings, so we are comfortable that the dividend will be sustainable going forward, especially with so much cash left over for reinvestment. Over the next year, EPS is forecast to expand by 17.4%. Under the assumption that the dividend will continue along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 72% which would be quite comfortable going to take the dividend forward.
