Former NASCAR Cup Series star Greg Biffle was a major first responder to areas of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee after Hurricane Helene ravaged the area on September 27. Biffle used his personal helicopter to airlift much needed supplies in a recovery effort that is ongoing. Biffle was honored for those heroics by winning the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Myers Brothers Award Friday night at the annual NASCAR Cup Series Awards Championship Banquet at the Charlotte Convention Center. Biffle won 19 NASCAR Cup Series races in a career that began in 2002. His full-time participation ended in 2016, but he returned to drive in five races in 2022 for a team owned by Johnathan Cohen.
