RBC Dominion valeurs mobilières (RBC DVM) devra s’acquitter d’une amende d’un million de dollars pour avoir enfreint les règles de négociation en effectuant une importante opération de bloc sur une action intercotée hors marché sans avoir obtenu au préalable une exemption réglementaire, rapporte l’Organisme canadien de réglementation des investissements?(OCRI). Un comité d’audience de l’OCRI a approuvé un règlement avec la société qui a accepté une pénalité d’un million de dollars et le versement de 15 000 $ en frais pour répondre aux allégations selon lesquelles elle a enfreint les règles sur les valeurs mobilières en effectuant une opération hors bourse non approuvée. Selon le règlement, en septembre 2023, la société a accepté d’acheter 51,2 millions d’actions de Baytex Energy à trois clients institutionnels — Rocky Creek Resources, LLC, JSTX Holdings, LLC et Juniper Capital III GP, L.P. — puis de vendre environ 4,5 millions de ces actions à divers autres clients canadiens.
