While the U.S. has made strides, including President Trump's executive order establishing a federal Bitcoin reserve, European companies have largely stayed quiet on the matter. Elisenda Fabrega, general counsel at Brickken, a European RWA tokenization platform, noted that Europe's hesitation to adopt Bitcoin stems from unclear regulations, institutional signaling, and market maturity. According to Fabrega, European companies have yet to take a clear stance on Bitcoin as a reserve asset, contributing to the slow pace of adoption. Although some companies like BNP Paribas, 21Shares AG, VanEck Europe, and Bitpanda have publicly disclosed Bitcoin holdings, such cases are still rare. Europe's fragmented regulatory framework is another key issue.
