a number of job cuts across the telecom industry amid a challenging media and advertising landscape. The cuts have affected employees in the company's radio business and its podcast division. “With the radio industry continuing to feel the pressure of an uncertain advertising market, we made some difficult but necessary changes in our audio business impacting roles in several markets. We recognize and thank the team members who are leaving us for their dedication to our listeners and advertisers,” said Charmaine Khan, a spokesperson for Rogers Sports & Media. Ms. Khan said the layoffs amounted to “a few dozen.” No stations have been closed, nor have any radio shows or podcasts been cancelled, she said. In its third quarter earnings, Rogers said its revenue from media increased by 11 per cent, but that was as a result of higher sports-related revenue. Its operating costs were up 8 per cent.
