This one, filed Feb. 14 in state District Court, seeks to collect outstanding balances on more than $10 million in loans the State Employees Credit Union alleges it issued to the defendants — Peters, his wife, Kathleen Peters, and their son Devin Peters — since 2018. The family's corporation and related companies, including Santa Fe Dining and Santa Fe Properties, are also named as defendants in the lawsuit. The complaint paints a picture of someone facing increasingly desperate times, alleging the family members or affiliated companies took out loan after loan in recent years — including one for $725,000 in 2022, one for $931,000 in 2023, and one for $2.9 million in 2024 — but have been unable to keep up with monthly payments.
