JUNEAU, Alaska--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alaska Power & Telephone Company (AP&T) is proud to announce that it has been selected as “Business of the Year” by Southeast Conference, the federally-designated Economic Development District for the southeast Alaska region. The award recognizes “extraordinary leadership and investment in innovative projects in Southeast Alaska,” and follows a busy decade of clean energy and broadband initiatives undertaken in numerous communities throughout the region.Southeast Conference was incorporated prior to Alaska Statehood in 1958 to promote development of a regional transportation system that would become the Alaska Marine Highway System.
