Stores like Shein have built an audience and business model largely centered around fast fashion , using on-demand manufacturing to quickly hop on a trend and maximize sales until the trend fades. But the model isn't new. Dropshipping grew in popularity over the past 15 years following a similar playbook. Companies like Shein simply found an appealing niche and leveraged it to its benefit. From my perspective, for e-commerce businesses like these, the products matter less than following consumer behaviors and trends. And we've seen something interesting happen over the past decade concerning the latest trend: election merchandise. Supporters of political candidates today show their support through merchandise of all forms, from T-shirts to flags. This is creating what I see as the next evolution of political merchandise e-commerce, and the niche is hot.
