The Oregon Health Authority, which is a regulator that is reviewing the purchase of the home-health care provider, disclosed earlier this week that it expects to complete its review of the deal by the end of November, according to a p osting on the regulator's website. The November date may be disappointing to some M&A investors who expected the deal may close sooner. The disclosure comes after UnitedHealth ( UNH ) in late June announced an agreement with VitalCaring Group to sell some of the two companies' healthcare centers. The divestiture is being done to appease Department of Justice antitrust concerns over the more than $3B deal Amedisys ( AMED ), which agreed to a $101 a share sale to UnitedHealth in late June of last year, is waiting for the DOJ to sign off on the deal for the home-health care provider.
