The consortium comprises ACCIONA, ACS Infrastructure, and Meridiam, each holding a one-third stake. It will manage the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of the highway expansion for 55 years. The SR400 is a north-south link connecting Atlanta's business districts with Fulton and Forsyth counties' residential areas. ACCIONA and Dragados will jointly handle the construction of the infrastructure. Each will be responsible for 50%, adding two express lanes over a 16-mile stretch between North Springs Station and north of McFarland Parkway. The project also involves introducing 0.9-mile express lanes in both directions between McGinnis Ferry Road and McFarland Parkway. It includes refurbishing several bridges such as those at Pitts Road, Roberts Drive, and Kimball Bridge. A toll system will be implemented to enhance traffic flow.
