The founder of Sheertex Inc. told staff this week that she is stepping down as chief executive of the innovative but financially challenged Montreal textile manufacturing startup, a source says. Katherine Homuth’s company, known as SRTX, is best known for its rip-resistant tights made from the same material as bulletproof vests. The Globe and Mail is not identifying the source as they are not authorized to publicly discuss the matter. Ms. Homuth and several directors and executives did not respond to inquiries. U.S. tech publication The Information first reported Wednesday about Ms. Homuth’s departure.
