Tesla reported delivery numbers of just under 336,700 EVs for the first quarter on Wednesday, coming in well below analysts' expectations of about 390,300 deliveries. The numbers marked a 13% year-over-year decrease in sales and Tesla's worst quarterly deliveries since 2022. Qazi attributed Tesla's delivery decline to the Model Y production loss — which the company also highlighted in its report — and appeared to disagree that Tesla's numbers had been negatively impacted by brand damage or anti-Musk sentiment.
