California-based Generous Brands will produce the Original Açaí, Dragon Fruit and Energy Açaí brands at its 500,000-square-foot facility in Bakersfield from 1 July. “The Sambazon brand is the first of several disruptive brands to become part of a new platform inside Generous Brands called Integrated Partnerships,” Generous Brands chief revenue officer Phil Kooy said. “Our integrated partnerships platform will leverage Generous Brands' world-class manufacture-to-market refrigerated capability to accelerate the growth of fresh & functional consumer brand.” Founded in 2000, Sambazon produces Açaí berry based products including smoothies, juices, smoothies packs, and ready to eat Açaí bowls. Generous Brands operates in both the US and Canada, distributing to roughly 56,000 retail units across both.
