The stock split will expand Broadcom's 2.9B shares to 29B shares, the company reported in an SEC filing on Monday. Broadcom also reported a mixed securities shelf offering for an undisclosed amount in the filing. "We intend to use the net proceeds from the sale of our securities under this prospectus and any applicable prospectus supplement for general corporate purposes, which may include but are not limited to financing our operations, repayment of debt and future business acquisitions," Broadcom noted in another SEC filing on Monday. Broadcom shares have increased more than since it announced the upcoming 10-for-1 split on June 12. The split will occur after the markets close on Friday, July 12. Fellow semiconductor company Nvidia ( NVDA ) conducted its own 10-for-1 swap just over a month ago.
