The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recalled 864 12-packs of Coca-Cola sold in two states earlier this month, and on Monday the agency classified it as a Class II recall. According to the FDA, a Class II recall is "a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote." The recall, which affects more than 10,000 cans of Coca-Cola, were recalled because they may have been contaminated with a foreign object: plastic. The FDA did not mention any injuries or illnesses in connection with the recall. The recalled beverages were bottled and distributed by Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, LLC, in Milwaukee, according to the FDA.
