However, the Dow, despite participating in the bull run, lagged its peers, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite. Wall Street's blue-chip index (the Dow) is up 11.7% year to date. On the other hand, the broad-market S&P 500 Index and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite have rallied 20.6% and 21.7%, respectively. However, from mid-August, the Dow has been northbound. At this stage, from an investment perspective, we have narrowed our search to three blue-chip stocks. These are — American Express Co. AXP, The Coca-Cola Co. KO and UnitedHealth Group Inc. UNH.
